Vermiculture / Worm Composting Workshop

  • Bestow 1606 Ashland St Ashland, OR 97520 (map)

Vermiculture, or vermicompost aka using worms to process your compost, is a fantastic way to turn plant and animal waste into nutrient and microbe rich compost, often called 'worm castings'. Unlike a regular compost pile, in a vermicomposting system the worms do most of the work for you while also imbuing the end product with a diverse microbial population.

Wondering how to implement a vermicompost system on your farm or at your home, or just want to know more about how it works? At this workshop, Chris Keefe  will show us his operation while teaching us the ins and out of vermicomposting. At the end of the workshop, you will have seen multiple ways to incorporate worms into farm and garden system, and will have a much better idea about what is best for your specific operation and how to execute it.
